Stable Helpers
Horses
and Ponies are very demanding animals and need a lot of care
and attention to ensure they are being well looked after.
Helpers
are always welcome whatever their age or riding ability as
long as they have completed the Hayfield Stable Safety course.
This course makes sure that each helper knows how to keep
themselves safe while being around horses.
Helpers
are expected to listen to staff members and students at all
times and assist them where necessary. This is essential as
some horses can be less predictable and nobody knows them
better than the staff.
The only
yard where helpers are asked not to assist is Top Stables.
This is a livery yard and the horses here are not riding school
horses. This means that they may be more lively or unpredictable
and helpers should only assist there if they have been asked
to by a member of staff.
Helpers
are always very much appreciated and it is an excellent way
to learn more about horses and become more confident when
handling them.
