In the Small School Arena 1. - This is the home of the ponies and is where you can ride Trigger the mechanical horse - also If you are small but older than 4 yrs old you can ride Zed and Poppet the Shetlands for £1 from 10 until 12. And 2..pm until 4pm.

If live horses scare you then why not ride "Trigger" the mechanical horse.

Watch Billy the blacksmith put shoes on the horses.

In Arena 2 - You can watch the riders preparing for their displays, take refreshments and look around the trade stands and choose the riding school closest to you where they can teach you to ride or if you can ride, to learn more and improve.

Also in Arena 2 - everything about caring for and buying horses - blacksmiths, vets, Physiotherapists and more.

Out in the sand arena 3 where the action is - Not just the displays but the big double-decker bus which serves food and drink and affords you rooftop viewing.
Note - if it rains, demonstrations will be held indoors.

At Lunchtime - Watch an amazing demonstration of vaulting on horseback - acrobatics such as you have never seen before.

At 12pm and 4pm there are Talks by the ILPH in Arena 2. and after the Vaulting demo you can learn all about Rolphing from Pauline Kidd.
The ILPH talk will advise everyone what keeping a horse involves. Each talk is about one hour and scheduled around the demonstrations.

Your questions answered:

We have already had a stream of questions and so here are the answers to the most common ones and do e-mail info@Hayfield.com if you have questions of your own.

Are there buses to Hayfield?
Not all the way. From union street take a 15 and hop off just before Hazlehead roundabout and it's a 20 minute walk right through the park, past the memorial garden, up between the middle of the golf courses to the top of the hill where you turn left and walk down to the stables. Be aware, it is a tough walk for toddlers.

How do I get there by Car?
You need to find the turning off Queens road (by the traffic lights on the Aberdeen side of Hazlehead roundabout). Drive up past Dobbies garden Centre into the wood where you will see the Hayfield sign where you keep right and drive over the golf fairway to find us. (It's just a five minute drive from the lights at queens road)

Do I have to pay for anything?
If someone is dropping you off then no you can have a wonderful day which costs you nothing. There is a £5 per car parking fee and a £1 pony ride fee which all goes towards providing riding training for people with special needs and so our advice is if coming by car then fill your car with people and get best value on the day.

Is it an all day programme?
No. the same programme runs from 9.30 to 12.30 and is repeated from 1.pm to 4.pm.but there is certainly much to see and do all day.

Is there refreshments?
Yes and reasonably priced (better than Wembley stadium). There will be teas, coffee's, juice and hamburgers and chips on sale all day. But there are bound to be queues!

Toilets and first aid?
Yes, extra toilets are being brought in but there are no easy nappy changing facilities. First aiders will be present on the day.

Disabled Provision?
If disabled people e-mail equitour!@hotmail.co.uk we will look after their interests as best we can.

Are dogs allowed?
Yes but they must be on short leads and dog poo is to be picked up and removed.

Sponsorship - advertising to promote your business.
